The 2020 Gilmandyke Angus Bull & Production Sale marked a major milestone for the stud, delivering its strongest result to that point with a full clearance and significant lift in both top-end value and overall averages. Strong competition throughout the catalogue saw consistent bidding across all sections of the sale, reinforcing growing confidence in the Gilmandyke program.
A total of 59 bulls were offered and 59 sold, achieving a 100% clearance rate and an overall average of $9,306.

Sale Topper
The sale was led by Gilmandyke Reality P154, a standout two-year-old bull that sold for $18,000. The bull attracted strong interest and was secured by long-time repeat buyer Corio Ag.
The top-priced lot was a 950kg, 24-month-old son of Matauri Reality 839, out of a proven Gilmandyke donor cow line, highlighting the depth of maternal strength within the program.
Buyer Activity & Demand
Strong repeat client support was a key feature of the 2020 sale, with established commercial operations continuing to invest in Gilmandyke genetics. The consistency of buying activity throughout the catalogue reflected confidence in the structural soundness, fertility, and commercial performance of the offering.
The sale also recorded active participation from volume buyers, with multiple operations securing groups of bulls and maintaining steady averages across their selections.
Commercial Influence
Alongside the bull offering, the sale also included a significant line of commercial pregnancy-tested-in-calf (PTIC) females, which contributed to overall buyer attendance and strengthened sale-day momentum. The commercial section averaged approximately $3,400 per head, with strong demand for PTIC lines joined to high-profile Angus genetics.

Gilmandyke Angus sale sees bull top at $18,000, ave $9305
GILMANDYKE Angus had their best sale to date at Kangaroobie, Orange, today, clearing all bulls and commercial females, and reaching new heights while in the process.
Overall Belinda Bateman and family sold 59 bulls to a top of $18,000 and averaged $9305.
The sale-topper was Gilmandyke Reality P154, purchased by repeat buyer of many years, Rob Hall of Corio Ag, Southern Highlands.
Sired by Matauri Reality 839 and out of the Premier Y301 Dream K42 female, that goes back to Vermont Dream Y301, he weighed 950 kilograms at 24 months.
Mr Hall also picked up the high-selling 15-month-old bull, Gilmandyke Fig Jam Q19, for $13,000. He was by Black Angus Fig Jam L45 out of Gilmandyke Edette J0599, and weighed 574kg.
Overall Corio Ag averaged $13, 250 across four bulls.
The second top-priced bull was Gilmandyke Stunner P327, a son of Musgrave 316 Stunner, bought for $17,000 by the Clark family of Glenwest, Portland.
A real highlight of the day though was in the commercial females with what could be a new record price for commercial Angus heifer sold at auction.
One pen of 10 pregnancy-tested-in-calf (PTIC) commercial Angus females reached new records, selling for $3900 a head to the Duddy family of Killain Angus, Tamworth.
The stand-out pen was PTIC to the $160,000 Australian record selling Angus bull, Millah Murrah Paratrooper P15.
Killain also picked up up a second pen of 10 PTIC heifers for $3400/hd, to result in a $3650 average across the pens.
Overall the 13 pens (124 PTIC commercial females total) averaged $3406/hd.
The sale was conducted by Bowyer and Livermore, with Nick Fogarty as the auctioneer.
